The Tug of War Routine.
What is exciting is that although most people are not involved in the issues of sustainability that the students can be the change agent - that they have the power to elicit change in their own lives. After all they are the future....
The students were involved in a PADLET activity that followed a field trip to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. We went to see the Medieval and Renaissance paintings. They were to pick 2 paintings (one from medieval and renaissance) and respond to the painting by using the See, Think & Wonder Thinking Routine. Great job!!
The Padlet Password is Museum if the Padlet is not visible.
I took photographs of the Padlet responses....
If the Padlet is not visible the password is Exploration
I summarized most of the comments posted by the students for the COMPASS POINTS. Interestingly enough, the students are clear on what they need to know and excited about learning new information. The moving forward point tells me that they realize that they are organizing their thoughts yet concerned about the division of work among partners. What surprised me were their comments about the worry and thoughts about the amount of work and especially time limits in terms of getting the project completed. This demonstrates that I need to talk to them Friday (tomorrow) to clear any issues and discuss the due date in order that they are not stressed since I want them to do a great job.
I like this Routine; it allows students to organize their ideas including process and allows them to vocalize their worries.
